Bikram’s Beginning Yoga class
is for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.
Feeling nervous, scared, or a little intimidated by the demands of Bikram Yoga? No problem! Even certified Bikram teachers started their journey with jitters. Bikram designed this class for beginners, so with a little practice, you will soon feel right at home.
Preparation
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day of your class
- Try not to eat for two to three hours before class
- Bring a big bottle of water (available for sale at the studio in case you forget)
- Bring a mat and two towels (also available for sale or rental)
- And last but not least, bring a positive attitude, be prepared to sweat and have a good time!
Please Note:
- If it’s your first visit to the studio, please arrive 20 minutes before class to complete your registration.
- Try your best to stay in class for the whole 90 minutes.
- Feeling dizzy, nauseous or light-headed is normal for beginners.
- Never be afraid to sit down if you feel the need.
- Don’t feel self-conscious; other students are deeply focused on their own practice and not yours.
- Try to take your second class within 24 hours, although you may experience discomfort such as muscle aches.
- Drink plenty of water after class.
Outfit:
- Wear light and fitted clothes – we need to
see your knees!
- Sport bra, shorts or tankini recommended for
the ladies.
- Running shorts, biker shorts, or Speedos (for the more adventurous!) are recommended for men.
- Avoid long sweat pants and heavy t-shirts
(our room is 40ºC hot!)
